Ganymede’s Keep the Faith a.k.a. “Cricket” has come to join our “pack” here at Fernrigg.   Cricket’s dam is Ch. Ganymede’s Canadian Idol (Diva) who is a multiple Best in Show winner and her sire is Ch.  Otterkin Blue Bayou Conundrum (Ethan).   Cricket makes a terrific addition to our showing and breeding program and we are very grateful that Al and Joanne Matheson agreed to sell her to us!

Barney Cleans Up at Kiwanis Easter Show!

At the Kiwanis Dog Club show this Easter weekend in Cloverdale, the Fernrigg boys did us proud. Barney took Best of Breed two days out of three, losing to his best buddy Andy on Sunday as big brother finally took the breed!

On Friday, Barney won Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Breed. (4 Borders entered)

On Saturday, he won Best of Breed, Best Puppy in Breed AND Best Puppy in Group. (5 Borders entered).

On Sunday, he won Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best Puppy in Group. (7 Borders entered). He picked up 7 points and 2 majors which, along with his 1 point last weekend, make him ALMOST a Canadian champion at 11 months of age! We’re very proud!

Barney will be travelling to Vancouver Island and to Washington State with his handler, Beth Hilborn, who is doing a fantastic job with him!

Andy and I will be travelling to Kitchener, Ontario to the Border Terrier Specialty, the All Terrier Specialty, 3 All Breed Dog Shows and an Earthdog Trial on the May long weekend.

These two boys are the start of a very exciting breeding program for us here at Fernrigg Farm!

Another new addition!

Fernrigg Border Terriers is delighted to announce our newest addition – Lakewood Sequoia (Barney). Barney is 8 1/2 weeks old and is the son of Conundrum Co-Writer (Levi) and Heythrop Tracer (Tracey).

He’s a fat little ball of fun that the other Borders immediately adopted – Lily thinks he’s the greatest plaything ever, Emma seems to assume he’s her pup come back home, and Andy lays down so Barney can crawl all over his neck and back and is just in love with him! We’ll have a busy year at the shows with two pups and Andy to show as a “Special”, but we’re looking forward to it!

Welcome Barney!
